Malcom is nice and helpful chap, I understand as a business you do what needs to be done but..... Dont lie if you dont want to or cant honour a confirmed booking!
The host was very accommodating and helpful, but the building isn't in great shape. Our floor smelled strongly of smoke, despite the "no smoking" placards (but I think the folks in the room next to ours were to blame). Rooms are quite old, but they're comfortable enough. The decor is interesting. The parking situation is good, and the location is great; it's just a short walk from the shops and restaurants downtown. This is a good place to stay, as long as you're not excpecting a four-star hotel.
Stayed in off peak season and pretty much had the building to myself. Despite it being off peak season, everything was clean and well kept. Each bedroom has an en-suite which is amazing at this price. Internet access is great, and the self catering kitchen is amazing. Not too much common area, but that's fine. Malcolm, who runs the place, is amazing guy and I enjoyed my conversations with me immensely.

First hostel I've stayed at, absolutely lovely. The owner is super nice and cool. Sitting with him at the table now talking about everything. Clean rooms, neat place, great price, and location!
