A wonderful selection of books
I really love The Orcadian. When I lived in Kirkwall I'd always wander down on days off to browse and buy new books. Brilliant range of reading for all genres and specialities, but the upstairs has a more 'gallery' feel, with gifts and more. I'm a history nut so im well-catered for, but something for everyone here.
I was hoping there would be a good bookshop in Kirkwall and I was not disappointed. The shop is quite large and you can take your time to peruse the books, maps that they sell. I bought two books one to encourage me to get out walking next time I visit. The other was to do with Scapa Flow and the brave who lost their lives during the war.
Well stocked "proper" bookshop. They had the maps we sought, also. Excellent
